Falcons knock out Archers

MANILA, Philippines — Adamson gatecrashed the Final Four, spoiling an Ateneo-La Salle showdown with a pulsating 80-76 come-from-behind victory to eliminate the Archers in the UAAP Season 85 men’s basketball tournament yesterday at the MOA Arena.

Star guard Jerom Lastimosa sizzled with 22 points and six assists including the lead-extending free throws in the last 12 seconds as the Falcons secured the semis berth against No. 1 Ateneo.

Joshua Yerro (13) and Ap Manlapaz (11) chipped in help while Lenda Douanga added 10 markers, seven boards and a block highlighted by the go-ahead hook shot inside the last two minutes to lift Adamson to its first Final Four appearance since 2018.

Meanwhile, La Salle took care of its end in women’s basketball with a 74-69 decision over No. 3 Santo Tomas to advance to the finals vs NU.
