Seo Hee Ham wants dominant win over Denice Zamboanga in ONE X rematch
MANILA, Philippines — South Korea's Seo Hee Ham will not be pulling her punches once she gets into the ONE Circle with Denice Zamboanga at ONE X on March 26.
That is, after their controversial bout in ONE: Empower last September 2021, Ham wants no doubt in the minds of anyone of who is the better fighter.
Though dangled in their bout at ONE Championship's 10th anniversary show is the likely chance of fighting whoever is the reigning ONE women's atomweight world champion after March 26, Ham remains focused on the task at hand.
"I'm not even thinking about [the belt], I never even thought about that," Ham told Philstar.com through a translator.
"Right now, my biggest motivation is to dominate Denice Zamboanga and beat her," she added.
In ONE: Empower, though it was Ham's hand that was raised at the end of three rounds, many doubted the fairness of the rule.
The bout even went into review of the now-defunct ONE Championship Competition Committee who upheld the decision.
Despite her goals of commanding their bout, the South Korean gave no promise of knocking out or submitting Zamboanga.
Rather, Ham just wants to leave it all out on the Circle.
"Actually, I'm not going for the finish," she said.
"I don't think about those things. I'm just going to give it my all and try my best inside the Circle," she added.
Ham-Zamboanga 2 is part of the lead card of ONE X.
Four other Filipinos will also be seeing action. Team Lakay's Lito Adiwang and Marrok Force MMA's Jeremy Miado will figure in a rare all-Filipino showdown while Eduard Folayang will clash with John Wayne Parr in a "Legend vs Legend" ONE Super Series Muay Thai contest.
Stephen Loman, meanwhile, will lock horns against Shoko Sato.
In the main event, Angela Lee will stake her women's atomweight belt against Thailand's Stamp Fairtex.
