MANILA, Philippines — Thirdy Ravena contributed quality minutes as a substitute for the San-En NeoPhoenix as they tallied their first win streak of the season, beating the Shinshu Brave Warriors, 72-69, at the Kotobuki Arena Chikuma on Wednesday.

Thirdy, who has been coming off of the bench since returning from Gilas duty, played an all-around game to help NeoPhoenix get back-to-back victories following their stunner over Ray Parks' Nagoya Diamond Dolphins last week.

The Filipino import finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and one assist.

He also filled up the stat sheet on the defensive end with three steals and two blocks to his name.

The former Ateneo standout still logged heavy minutes despite coming off the bench.

NeoPhoenix improved their record to 7-30.

Shinshu's Filipino-Japanese player Matthew Aquino played only three minutes against Thirdy's San-En and logged one rebound.

Elsewhere, Parks' Nagoya barged back into the win column after beating the Hiroshima Dragonflies, 100-93.

After leading by as big as 20 points, the Diamond Dolphins had to fend off a Hiroshima comeback try as their lead was cut to as small as six, 96-90, with 19 ticks left.

Though coming away with the victory, Parks struggled due to foul trouble as he finished with just three points and one assist on 14 minutes of play.

He had four personal fouls to his name.

Javi Gomez de Liano, for his part, played sparingly in the Ibaraki Robots' 95-91 victory over the Sunrockers Shibuya.

Gomez de Liano logged six minutes of action and had three points, one rebound and one assist.

Gomez de Liano's fellow UP alumni Kobe Paras, for his part, absorbed a loss with the Niigata Albirex BB as they fell to the Kawasaki Brave Thunders, 62-92.

The loss came despite an efficient shooting night where Paras scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting.

He also had two rebounds and one assist as Niigata fell to 5-33.

Meanwhile, Dwight Ramos' Toyama Grouses stumbled against the Kyoto Hannaryz, 66-88.

Ramos went cold for the night on 2-of-10 shooting.

He logged seven points, seven rebounds, three assists and two blocks in almost 29 minutes of play as a starter for the Grouses.

As for Kiefer Ravena, the losses continue to pile up for him and the Shiga Lakestars as they fell to the Shimane Susanoo Magic, 74-82 — their seventh loss in a row.

Kiefer was efficient individually, though, as he tallied a double-double of 10 points and 10 assists to go along with four rebounds and three steals in the losing effort.
