No slowing down for Philippine women’s football
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) will leave no stone unturned to get the history-making women’s team fully equipped for its landmark debut in next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
PFF president Nonong Araneta and secretary-general Ed Gastanes said the lady booters’ program that’s been proven successful in the ongoing AFC Women’s Asian Cup campaign will be sustained and strengthened in the next 15 months leading to the global showpiece.
“We’re the lowest ranked (64th) to qualify as of now but I think with proper preparation, we can compete with the best,” Araneta said during yesterday’s online PSA Forum.
Intense buildup will begin once the celebrated squad wraps up its stellar stint in the WAC in India, where it vies in the semifinals tomorrow against Korea.
