Suns hold off Clarkson, Jazz for 8th straight win
MANILA, Philippines – The Phoenix Suns continue to be the hottest team in the NBA as they stretched their win streak to eight with a 105-97 vicitory over Utah Jazz at the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time).
An 8-0 burst in the final two minutes put the game out of reach for the pesky Jazz after they got within two, 94-96.
The Suns held an erstwhile dominant lead of 21 points early in the game.
Devin Booker dropped 43 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help his squad maintain the best record in the NBA.
Jordan Clarkson paced the Jazz in the losing effort with 26 points off the bench. He was key to the Jazz's comeback try with 16 of his points scored in the fourth period.
Elsewhere, the Dallas Mavericks got back into the win column with a 132-112 blowout of the Portland Trailblazers.
Luka Doncic posted a triple-double of 15 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists to pace the Mavs.
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies edged the San Antonio Spurs, 118-110.
Ja Morant erupted with 41 points as the Grizzlies improved to 33-17.
