Rosser rejoins Tropang Giga
MANILA, Philippines — Fil-Am Matt Ganuelas-Rosser returned to his original team in the PBA – the TNT Tropang Giga – after opting to enter unrestricted free agency following his stint with Terrafirma.
“We’d like to welcome Matt back to the team,” TNT announced on its social media accounts last night. “Now it’s time to go to work.”
Rosser was the third player from the rookie class of 2014 to exercise the PBA’s new UFA option.
Batchmates Nards Pinto and Rodney Brondial were the early birds, moving to Barangay Ginebra and San Miguel Beer, respectively, at the end of their contracts with Meralco and Alaska.
Like Pinto and Brondial, the 6-foot-4 Rosser declined the renewal offer of the Dyip when his contract expired last Dec. 31 and decided to test his value in the market.
It will be a homecoming at TNT for Rosser, who played the first three years of his pro career with the franchise, winning the 2015 Commissioner’s Cup diadem with it.
Rosser’s TNT comeback came shortly after the Tropang Giga acquired another free agent, signing rookie slotman Mark Acuno.
