Tabuena surges ahead in Idaho Open
MANILA, Philippines — Miguel Tabuena carded a seven-under 63 in a follow-up to a five-under to surge ahead with a five-stroke lead over Brad Marek after 36 holes of the Idaho Open at Quail Hollow in Boise, Idaho.
Tabuena strung together nines of 30-33 highlighted by an amazing run of six birdies in a seven-hole stretch from No. 3 as the Rio Olympics veteran raced ahead going to the last round of the 54-hole tourney.
The Filipino golfer collected nine birdies in all against two bogeys.
Meanwhile, Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina will have 18 holes left to make their move and finish strong as the rain-hit Cambia Portland Classic was reduced to a 54-hole event.
Organizers cancelled Saturday’s third round as heavy downpour rendered the Oregon Golf Club course in West Linn, Oregon unplayable.
