Eala, Kasintseva bomb out of contention

MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala and partner Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva of Andorra bombed out of contention in the W25 Madrid women’s doubles event, succumbing to seasoned counterparts with a close three-set quarterfinals defeat late Wednesday night.

The young tandem stood their ground early on but ran out of gas against Ashley Lahey of the United States and Olivia Tjandramulia of Australia in a 5-7, 6-4, 6-10 loss.

After splitting the first two sets, the ITF Juniors No. 3 Eala and No. 1 Kasintseva looked steady and composed with a 3-0 cushion in the tiebreaker but cooled down and yielded the match.
