GAB suspends VisMin Mindanao leg
MANILA, Philippines — The Games and Amusements Board (GAB) has put the Mindanao leg of the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup on hold pending the result of its ongoing probe on the absurd Visayas leg game between Siquijor and Lapu-Lapu last week.
GAB chairman Baham Mitra said the league is under “re-evaluation.”
“We are in the process of investigation and seriously looking into the allegations of wrongdoing. The board would like to further observe the ongoing Visayas leg before giving a go signal for the other,” he said in a statement.
The Mindanao leg is set to kick off May 20 with a nine-team cast featuring Basilan, Cagayan De Oro, Zamboanga, Sindangan, Roxas, Valencia, Pagadian, Ozamis and Tawi-Tawi. But it has to wait GAB’s go-signal.
