Mikey promises to bring electricity as he joins TNT

MANILA, Philippines — Fancied Fil-Am guard Mikey Williams is ready to step into the shoes of on-leave Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and do his thing for the TNT Tropang Giga.

“Bobby’s a great player on his own. But me coming into the team is definitely me just bringing what I bring to the table. I’m going to let my game do the talking and promise everybody’s going to see what they’re waiting to see,” Williams said on The Chasedown on Cignal TV Saturday.

With Parks taking a sabbatical, the Tropang Giga entered into a three-team trade to get the rights for the No. 4 pick and use it to select Williams. They expect the explosive playmaker and shooting guard out of Cal State to contribute immediately.

The 6-foot-2 Williams may be in his first year in the PBA but he comes in with vast experience. He played in the NBA G League in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons and had stints in the Asean Basketball League and MPBL

“TNT can definitely expect an electrifying player. I love to put on a show and on every level that I’ve been on, I’ve been able to experience and do the things I love to do,” said the 29-year-old Williams.
