Brickman out of 2021 draft
MANILA, Philippines — Highly-touted Fil-foreign bets Jason Brickman, Jeremiah Gray and Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser are out of the 2021 PBA Draft exercise.
Agent Charlie Dy confirmed that his clients will not beat the buzzer for submission of necessary documents to be eligible for the draft proceedings on March 14.
“They could not get an early schedule at the consulate so they can’t make the deadline (today),” Dy told The STAR.
Two other Fil-foreign standouts Taylor Statham and Tyrus Hill have also yet to submit needed papers for eligibility.
Andre Paras, meanwhile, has already submitted his documents according to a check with a PBA official yesterday.
Paras, son of 1989 Rookie-MVP winner Benjie, previously faced roadblock after being considered as a Fil-foreign under league rules as he was born in the United States.
Twenty-one out of the 31 Fil-foreign aspirants have complied with the requirements as of press time led by prospective top picks Joshua Munzon and Jaime Malonzo.
Fellow early round prospects Franky Johnson, Troy Rike, Mikey Williams and James Laput are also in.
All other hopefuls have until the end of office hours at 5 p.m. today to make it in the official list of rookie applicants, which was initially at 97.
