Eala plays Swiss in W25 event

MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala plunges back into ITF action today, taking on Switzerland’s Simona Waltert in the opening round of the W25 Manacor event in Spain.

Eala will be back in the very venue of her first ITF victory early in the year facing a Swiss foe with her own W15 Manacor triumph on top of four other ITF wins in 2018 and 2019.

The 20-year-old Waltert, ranked No. 284 in WTA and No. 108 in ITF, could well be an acid test for the Filipina lass who is playing only her third W25 event.

Eala had a solid quarterfinal finish the last time in W25 Grenoble tournament in France.
