MANILA, Philippines — After a series of discussions, the UAAP decided yesterday to cancel its 83rd season.

“The decision will allow the UAAP member-schools to plan their activities for the remainder of the academic year, as well as their athletic programs for next season,” the UAAP said in a statement.

It’s the first cancelled UAAP season after World War II.

The NCAA, for its part, is still hoping to hold a short but sweet season by the second quarter of 2021.
