Go backs call to probe sports complex deal
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go said the truth on the allegation on the construction of sports facilities in the New Clark City by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) should come out.
The construction of the facilities was rushed for the country’s hosting of the Southeast Asian Games last year where the home bets emerged as overall champs.
Go said the privilege speech by Sen. Risa Hontiveros about BCDA has been referred to the Senate Blue Ribbon as the primary committee to act on the matter and as a member of that committee, he vowed to support committee chair Sen. Richard Gordon in determining the necessary steps to take.
“Para sa akin, kailangang lumabas ang katotohanan. At katulad ng mga sinabi ko noon, ni piso mula sa kaban ng bayan ay hindi dapat manakaw o masayang. Kaya kung may mga alegasyon ng anomalya sa anumang mga proyekto ng gobyerno, dapat sagutin at hindi palampasin ito,” said Go.
