Folayang ain’t done fighting
MANILA, Philippines — Is Eduard Folayang calling it a day after losing to Australia’s Antonio Caruso for his fourth defeat in his last five fights?
Not yet.
Folayang, who turns 36 on Nov. 22, stressed he still has some gas left in the tank despite succumbing to Caruso via unanimous decision in the ONE: Inside the Matrix in Singapore last Friday.
It was the 10th defeat for the former two-time lightweight champion against 22 victories. But what’s quite alarming is the fact that he’s 1-4 over the last two years.
“I’m not contemplating on retirement yet,” said Folayang during the post-fight online press conference.
He previously lost to Shinya Aoki, Eddie Alvarez and Pieter Buist with his lone win coming at the expense of Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu.
