UAAP taps Cignal as TV coveror

MANILA, Philippines  — The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) has found a new TV coveror in Cignal TV, with the two parties striking a deal yesterday.

Select events of the UAAP will be aired on One Sports and Cignal TV’s digital platforms for the next five years and a half, starting with Season 83 that is slated to start early next year.

“With its affiliate network, TV5, their combined experience in sports production provides the UAAP with a strong foundation in its efforts to promote collegiate sports in the country,” said the UAAP in a statement.

“Despite the current challenges, the league is looking forward to the partnership as a new chapter that can take the UAAP to even greater heights.”
