MANILA, Philippines — After training in front of Rafael Nadal last month, Filipino rising star Miko Eala  experienced an even more special treat in sharing the court with the tennis superstar as part of his non-stop training in Spain.

The 17-year-old phenom shared the moment of his lifetime on social media before his jump to the US NCAA to play for Penn State University next season.

“Huge day for me as I got to hit with Rafa Nadal! If you listen closely, you can hear me grunting ‘ang bigat ng bola,’” said Eala.

Miko and his sister Alex are scholars of Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, Spain. They have been training non-stop amid the pandemic.

Under RNA’s wings, the Eala siblings have risen as two of the rising tennis stars today with triumphs in international tournaments.

Miko won the Boys’ Singles in the Hellenic Banks Masters Tennis Academy  while Alex captured the Australian Open girls’ doubles title with Indonesian pal Priska Madelyn Nugroho.

The world no. 2 player and 19-time grand slam champion Nadal, for his part, continues to be ready for future tournaments despite skipping the US Open due to COVID-19 concerns.
