Kai debut delayed

MANILA, Philippines — Kai Sotto’s anticipated NBA G-League stint has been pushed back all the way to next year following the cancellation of the remainder of the 2019-2020 season.

NBA G-League president Shareef Abdur-Rahim announced the decision yesterday in line with the NBA’s announcement of a July 31 return to finish its own season.

The cancellation thus stretched the developmental rank jump of Sotto and the rest of the G-League top signees to an indefinite date instead of later this year.

The G-League usually opens a week after the NBA Tip-off around late October or early November.
