GAB tumutulong rin para makabalik ang sports

MANILA, Philippines — Sa dahan-dahang pagluwag ng patakaran ng pamahalaan ukol sa pagharap sa coronavirus di-sease (COVID-19) ay nagsusumite ang ilang sports associations ng protocols para sa kanilang pagbabalik sa eksena.

Ilan sa mga nagbigay ng gagamiting guidelines sa Games and Amusement Board (GAB) para sa unti-unti nilang pagbabalik-ensayo ay ang professional football, boxing, muay thai at mixed martial arts.

“Sa ngayon ay patuloy ang aming monitoring at pakikipag-ugnayan sa Inter-Agency Task Force para maisakatuparan ang pagbabalik ng sports sa tamang pagkakataon,” wika ni GAB chairman Abraham ‘Baham’ Mitra.

Nauna nang nagsumite ang Philippine Football Federation ng kanilang gagamiting protocols para sa pagbabalik ng Philippine Football League.

Hindi pa pinapayagan ng IATF at ng Department of Health ang mga contact sports sa ilalim ng ipinatutupad na General Community Quarantine (GCQ) sa National Capital Region.

Samantala, umaasa ang GAB na maisasama ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang mga pro boxers, trainers at coaches sa binibigyan ng ayuda matapos kay Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III.

Sa open letter kay Bello noong April 1, iginiit ni Mandaluyong City-based promoter Dante Almario ang pakiusap ni Mitra na bigyan ang mga licensed professional boxers at trainers ng PHP5,000 hanggang PHP8,000 base sa social amelioration program (SAP) ni President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Please be inform(ed) that although pro boxers and trainers, as well as matchmakers, are not considered daily/monthly earners as laborers, they are seriously affected by the total lockdown imposed by our government,” ani Almario.
