MANILA, Philippines — Floyd Mayweather Jr. held a brief sparring session yesterday, fueling reports that he’s on his way to yet another ring return once the situation allows.

Short video clips provided by World Boxing News showed the retired boxing superstar, clad in floral shorts and TMT shirt, gearing up with the help of an assistant.

It did not state where the sparring session took place, and it’s not the first time he broke sweat at the gym the past few weeks.

But what will surely raise the curiosity of fight fans is the fact that Mayweather, boxing’s “King of Comebacks,” must be up to something big.

A few days ago, reports said Mayweather, 43, who had amassed earnings of close to a billion dollars throughout his career, is running short of cash.

A ring return following his previous retirements in 2007, 2015 and 2017 should net the “hurting” superstar fresh earnings of at least $200 million.

A rematch with Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao, who turned 41 last December, is what the boxing world has been eagerly awaiting.

Pacquiao lost to Mayweather in their 2015 showdown dubbed as the “Fight of the Century” but has remained in the elite circle of champions.
