NCAA bats for resumption of games
MANILA, Philippines — The Perpetual Help System DALTA players of multi-titled coach Sinfronio ‘Sammy’ Acaylar can’t wait for the resumption of the games in the NCAA Season 95 on March 16.
The defending champion Altas are gearing up for the finals after earning an automatic ticket to the best-of-three series following a sweep of the elimination round.
Perpetual Help’s opponent will come from the stepladder semis involving Arellano University, Emilio Aguinaldo College and College of St. Benilde.
The Altas completed a 9-0 sweep of the elimination round with a 25-14, 25-15, 25-18 win against the Letran Knights last Feb. 13, but have since been idle after a postponement of the matches due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
However, the NCAA Management Committee chaired by Arellano University’s Peter Cayco said it is proposing to the Policy Board the resumption of games on March 16.
Regardless, the Altas of team owner Tony Tamayo still need to wait for the result of the stepladder semis.
“Maganda na magbabalik na uli ang games ng March 16, pero kami mag-aantay pa din kasi may two playdates pa ang men’s team and then may stepladder pa,” said Acaylar.
