Four breeders pace LGBA series 1st round

MANILA, Philippines — Four gamefowl breeders, with perfect three wins each, took the early lead in the opening round of the 2020 LGBA Cocker of the Year series at Pasay City Cockpit.

Round 2 for among Luzon Gamecock Breeders Association (LGBA) members is set Friday while the final round is slated Feb. 28.

LGBA president Nick Crisostomo said the first leg of the series (7–cock derby) supported by Sagupaan Superfeeds and Complexor 3000 has a guaranteed prize of P1 million.

The frontrunners are Mayor Rommel Romano (RVR GF), Hector Magpantay (Hammer Dewormer), Boy Tanyag (CRB) and Jimmy Junsay/Dennis Reyes/Ed Ladores/ (Team Jared Guadalupe). The RM San Vicente entry tallied 2.5 points while Tony Antonio, Joseph Chua, Rey Magbuhos, Jimmy Junsay Jimmy Gosiaco, Jun Sevilla, Doc Ayong Lorenzo, KMC brothers, Wilson Go, Bok de Jesus, Gerry Escalona and Rep. JB Bernos posted 2.0 points.
