Skippers, Saints clash in winner-take-all tiff

MANILA, Philippines — One team finally gets to realize its championship dream today when Marinerong Pilipino and BRT Sumisip Basilan-St. Clare face off for all the marbles in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Paco Arena in Manila today.

The Skippers and the Saints have split the first two games of this best-of-three titular showdown, setting the stage for an expected slam-bang rubber match at 3:30 p.m. with the survivor earning the elusive breakthrough title.

Considered the underdog prior to the finals, BRT now enjoys the momentum on its side following a huge 74-60 Game Two win that foiled its rival’s conference sweep bid. 

And coach Stevenson Tiu wants his wards to make the most of the chance they have given themselves.
