MANILA, Philippines – Spain is heading to the 2019 FIBA World Cup Finals after outlasting Australia in double overtime, 95-88, in Beijing, China on Friday.

The Boomers held the lead for most of the game but the Spanish cagers were able to chip away at the lead.

Both squads were neck-and-neck in the endgame with neither team pulling away, forcing double overtime with clutch free throw shooting.

NBA stars Marc Gasol and Patty Mills' shooting at the foul line were crucial in keeping the match in deadlock.

But it was ultimately Spain's offense orchestrated by guard Ricky Rubio that came out victorious in the end.

Sergio Llull hit two 3-pointers in the second extension period to give Spain just enough breathing room to hold on for the win.

The Spaniards will face the winner of the other semifinal game between France and Argentina.
