Ateneo still has 'lots of work to do' after close call vs UST
MANILA, Philippines — The Ateneo Blue Eagles are off to a 3-0 start en route to their UAAP three-peat bid, but head coach Tab Baldwin says there is room for improvement.
"Lots of work to do," Baldwin said after Ateneo narrowly escaped UST in a 71-70 victory on Wednesday.
"Mentally, especially. [I'm] still trying to get some players to settle into their roles," he said.
With the season still in its first few games, Baldwin is still waiting on his cagers to settle down.
The decorated mentor feels that his lineup has yet to reach its full potential.
"Our roster is not, you know, clicking on all cylinders yet. And that needs to happen," he said.
"I think when these things start happening, our team is going to go up another notch. And that's what we're hoping to do," Baldwin added.
The defending champions have faced tough challenges early and with the FEU Tamaraws next on their list, the Eagles have no time to slack off.
"No time to really take a break [with] FEU on the weekend. And that's where we have to, you know, get our minds focused next," Baldwin said.
