MANILA, Philippines -- Gilas Pilipinas finishes the 2019 FIBA World Cup group stage without a win after falling to Angola in overtime, 84-81, in Foshan, China on Wednesday.

Angola held the lead for most of the game, with the Nationals playing catch-up against their opponents.

Despite making a run in the middle of the fourth quarter to take the lead and force overtime, Gilas just couldn't do enough to get the win.

Valdelicio Joaquim led the way for Angola with 20 points.

Carlos Morais also came out in the clutch for Angola to deny Gilas of the comeback. He finished with 11 points for the African squad.

Andray Blatche and CJ Perez -- the latter hit a triple that sent the game to overtime -- were bright spots for Gilas in the loss. They scored 23 and 17 points, respectively.

Gilas finishes the group stage winless at 0-3 while Angola improves to a 1-2 slate
