Gilas women beat Malaysians, advance to FIBA 3x3 U-18 Asia Cup quarters

MANILA, Philippines — The Gilas Pilipinas Women's Under-18 3x3 squad is headed to the FIBA 3x3 Under-18 Asia Cup quarterfinals in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

After suffering a narrow loss against top-squad China, the Filipinas cruised past host Malaysia, 19-8, for a 1-1 record in the group stage.

The even slate is enough to push the Gilas girls to the next round where they join the undefeated Chinese.

Camille Clarin scored nine points in the Filipinas' drubbing of Malaysia.

The Gilas girls will face the top team of Pool C which is composed of Turkemenistan, New Zealand and India on Saturday.
