Pangasinan honors Oranza for medal feat in Asian meet
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines — The provincial board of Lingayen through a resolution congratulated a Pangasinense for winning in the recent 2019 Amman Asian Taekwondo Championships.
Commended was James Oranza, a 16-year-old prodigy from Barangay Bayaoas, Mangatarem, Pangasinan. He is a member of the 14-man Philippine poomsae team that competed in the Asian event in Jordan last July 18-24.
The resolution authored by Second District Board Member Von Mark Mendoza said the competition was participated in by 31 countries.
Oranza, who displayed his speed and agility in the free style mixed team category, won a bronze medal in the competition.
He also bagged a gold medal for competing in the 14th ASEAN Taekwondo Championships last May at the SM Mall of Asia.
“The sterling performances of James Oranza at an early age is an inspiration and model of the youth in the province, especially to all young Pangasinenses who aspire to be taekwondo enthusiasts,” the resolution said.
