Beermen dispose of KaTropa for PBA Commissioner’s Cup title

MANILA, Philippines -- The San Miguel Beermen are the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup champions after beating the TNT KaTropa, 102-90, in Game Six of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday.

The Beermen had control almost the entiree game, with TNT struggling to get its offensive rhythm going.

June Mar Fajardo and Chris McCullough led the way for San Miguel in the convincing victory.

Christian Standhardinger was also pivotal to the closer.

SMB led by as much as 19, 63-44, in the third quarter.

Jayson Castro and Terrence Jones were bright spots for the KaTropa in the loss.

San Miguel is the lowest-ranked playoff team in PBA history to win a championship. They entered the quarterfinals as the seventh seed.
