Fortune: Gym work is done

Abac Cordero - The Philippine Star

LAS VEGAS – Manny Pacquiao won’t get anywhere near the door of the Bones Adams Boxing Gym in this oven-hot city.

Pacquiao’s strength and conditioning coach said on Wednesday or three days before summer’s biggest fight that all the gym work is done.

“No more,” said Justine Fortune after the final press conference at an enclosed section of the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Earlier in the day, Pacquiao went out for a run at six in the morning, and then shadow-boxed and hit some mitts at the gym.

The fight is just around the corner, and Fortune said Pacquiao will do nothing but walk around the block Thursday.

The official weigh-in is on Friday afternoon.

“He’ll run or walk – maybe. But no f*****g gym. It’s Thursday,” said the ex-heavyweight contender.

Not even if Pacquiao begs.

“He can beg as much as he likes. We had a deal. He can beg to the cows, come on, there’s no f*****g gym tomorrow,” said Fortune.

Enough is enough.
