EMB 5-Cock Derby at Pasay today

MANILA, Philippines — A tough showdown among big time cockers from Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Batangas, Quezon, Bulacan and Pampanga highlights the EMB 5-Cock Derby today at the Pasay City Cockpit.

The EMB group of Laguna, supported by veteran llamador Jerald Picazo, will host the event with a guaranteed prize expected to reach P1 million. Sponsors are Sagupaan Superfeeds and Complexor 3000.

Picazo said some members of the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) will also compete.

The 2018-2019 cockfighting season ends next Friday, with the PCC 33rd Anniversary 4-Cock Derby.

Up next is the Luzon Breeders Cup 9-Stag Derby to start the succeeding season. Registration for the opening round on July 12 is fully booked (140 entries) and gamefowl breeders may join on July 19 or 22. Semifinals will be held on July 26.

Elimination rounds will also be held in various Luzon venues including Lucena Cockpit Arena (July 27 and Aug. 12), Balagtas Coliseum Batangas (Aug. 8) and Metro Darasa Cockpit (Aug. 11).
