San Miguel routs Magnolia to force Game 7
QUEZON CITY, Philippines – With their backs against the wall, the San Miguel Beermen put on a clinic against Magnolia and fashioned out a 98-86 victory at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday to send the PBA Philippine Cup Finals to a deciding Game Seven.
The Beermen dictated the pace from the get-go, finishing the opening canto with a double-digit advantage, 25-12.
Relying on hot-shooting from June Mar Fajardo and Arwind Santos, San Miguel kept its five-peat Philippine Cup title bid alive.
Despite runs from the Hotshots in the second and third periods to cut the lead to single digits, San Miguel kept their foes at bay.
Jio Jalalon and Ian Sangalang were go-to scorers for Magnolia in the loss.
Both squads will vie for the title in the winner-take-all match on Wednesday.
