Dottie Ardina slows down in Hawaii
Dante Navarro (The Philippine Star) - April 21, 2019 - 12:00am

MANILA, Philippines — Dottie Ardina failed to sustain a solid 68 in the second day and fell from joint 12th to a share of 29th with a 74 in the penultimate round of the Lotte Championship paced by Brooke Henderson of Canada and American Nelly Korda at the Ko Olina Golf Club in Oahu, Hawaii Friday.

Short in length but long in talent, Ardina came through with a bogey-free four-under card Thursday as the Filipina ace finally advanced after a string of missed cut stints in the early going of the 2019 LPGA Tour season.  She spiked her big second round charge with three straight birdies from No. 5 to join fancied Thai Ariya Jutanugarn, Korean Jin Young Ko and Puerto Rican Maria Torres at 12th.

But after a run of pars to start the third round, Ardina stumbled with a bogey on the seventh and though she recovered the stroke at the par-5 13th, she wavered with bogeys on Nos. 16 and 18 and limped with a pair of 37s.
