DLSU snaps Ateneo's 10-game win streak
MANILA, Philippines — Defending champions DLSU Lady Spikers reasserted their mastery over rivals Ateneo after disposing of the Lady Eagles in straight sets, 25-17, 25-13, 25-23, in the 81st UAAP women's volleyball tournament at the SMART Araneta Coliseum on Saturday.
After being seemingly invincible on their 10-game winning streak, the Ateneo Lady Eagles just couldn't find their fight against the Taft-based squad.
The Lady Spikers just steam-rolled past the top-seeded team in the first two sets. Despite a run from Ateneo late in the third, the distance proved too much.
Ateneo struggled to find any offense all game while the Lady Spikers just bombarded the Katipunan squad over and over.
DLSU this clinched a Final Four spot with their 9-3 record while Ateneo suffers their second defeat of the season and remain at the top with a 10-2 slate.
