Ebon-less FEU survives upset-seeking UE
MANILA, Philippines – Despite playing without the services of rookie Lycha Ebon, the FEU Lady Tamaraws outlasted the UE Lady Warriors in another five set thriller, 25-15, 16-25, 12-25, 25-22, 17-15, in the 81st UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Saturday.
Errors plagued UE as they squandered a dominant 2-1 set lead over an undermanned FEU side.
Ivana Agudo, who was inserted in the starting lineup in place of Ebon, proved to be a game-changer for FEU as she converted in the clutch.
UE saved several match points in the fifth set, but a costly net touch error and an attack from FEU's Jerrili Malabanan doomed the comeback.
FEU improves to a 6-3 record while UE slides to 2-7.
