MANILA, Philippines -- Coming off the preseason with two championships, the UP Lady Maroons were early favorites entering the the 81st UAAP women's volleyball tournament.

After a stellar showdown against defending champions DLSU, the Diliman-based squad suffered back-to-back losses. The Lady Maroons finished the first round on a high note, besting Adamson University in four sets. 

But State U is set to face a tall order to start the second half of the season. With revenge on their minds, DLSU will be determined to bring down the Lady Maroons in their second round encounter.
