MANILA, Philippines — Injury-hit F2 Logistics turned to team play in scoring a 25-22, 25-21, 25-22 sweep of United Voleyball Club and tightening its hold of No. 2 in the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix Thursday night at Filoil Flying V Center.

With backup setter Alex Cabanos ably orchestrating play, the Cargo Movers drew evenly-distributed production from Lindsay Stalzer (12), Ara Galang (10), Becky Perry (nine) and Majoy Baron (nine) in posting their seventh win in eight outings and sending UVC down to 4-4.

Cabanos tossed 16 excellent sets to go with two aces as her team remains hounded by injuries to  Kim Fajardo (finger), Cha Cruz (shoulder) and Kianna Dy (knee).

“The system is really working for us,” said former Santo Tomas star Cabanos. “We just have to follow the coaches, keep calm and keep trusting one another.”

Meanwhile, the Cargo Movers announced the signing of University of Perpetual Help spiker Cindy Imbo, heroine of the Lady Altas’ Final Four run in the NCAA,  to take the place of Dy in the rotation.

“Cindy will start playing with us against PLDT on Saturday,” confirmed F2 Logistics team manager Hollie Reyes ahead of their clash with PLDT (5-4) today at 4 p.m. at Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan City.

Meanwhile, unbeaten defending champion Petron guns for Win No. 9 in the 6 p.m. main game versus Cignal (5-4).

“Kailangang ma-maintain namin yung high level, hindi magiging madali bawat game, kailangang maging gutom kami palagi, hindi pwedeng makuntento sa eight wins,” said Blaze Spikers coach Shaq delos Santos, who has at his disposal the powerhouse duo of imports Katherine Bell and Staphanie Niemer and top locals Rhea Dimaculangan, Aiza Maiso Pontillas, Denden Lazaro and Mika Reyes.
