Petron Challenge revs up this weekend

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The country’s finest karters return to the starting grid this weekend when the 2019 Petron Blaze X30 Challenge Philippines fires off Races 3 and 4 at Clark International Speedway’s kart track in Pampanga.

Accompanying the twin races in the annual series’ second of three legs is the first round of the Petron Motorsports Karting Academy’s club series featuring the winners in the Cebu, Bacolod and Carmona stops.

The starters include Euan Sebastian Seno, Jesus Antonio Garcia, Mariano Axel Nocom, Gian Carlos Casimiro, Mikaela Julia Memije, Joaquin Yulo, Robert Jade Salazar, Clifford Addrean Salazar, Xeane Oliver Fredeluces, Julio Trafeo, Maria Meliza Quinones, Zebb Eteve, Matthew Maramba, Luigi Agustin Co and Jennica Gulapa.

Reigning Asian Karting Open junior champion Bianca Bustamante ruled the Pre-Final and Final of Races 1 and 2, also at CIS track last month, for a maximum 90 points and will put a stranglehold on the senior title with another sweep this weekend.

Also gunning for repeat victories are Arvin Drueco in the X30 Master class, Rommel Herce in the Veterans race, Miguel Quinones in the Junior division and Michael Xander Perez in the Formula Cadet Novice derby.
