MANILA, Philippines – It's official: Kristaps Porzingis is headed for the Dallas Mavericks.

In a six-player deal, the New York Knicks traded Porzingis, along with Tim Hardaway Jr. and Courtney Lee, to the Mavericks for DeAndre Jordan, Dennis Smith Jr. and Wesley Matthews.

The trade follows Porzingis' concerns over the Knicks' losing ways and overall direction, per reports by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelbourne.

The move also creates cap space for New York in time for free agency this summer.

Porzingis, who is continuing rehabilitation after suffering an ACL injury in February 2018, will join veteran Dirk Nowitzki and Rookie of the Year frontrunner Luka Doncic in Dallas before becoming a restricted free agent this summer.

While Porzingis' future with the Mavs remains uncertain, league sources say Dallas has confidence that they can keep the 7'3" big man after he hits free agency, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Apart from receiving Jordan, Smith Jr. and Matthews from the Mavericks, the Knicks will get two future first round picks.

Both teams also took to Twitter after the trade with their respective statements.
