Filipino boxer loses in Pacquiao-Broner undercard

LAS VEGAS – Davao’s Jayar Inson recovered from two first round knockdowns but still came up short against American Jonathan Steele, losing by split decision in the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Adrien Broner fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena here Saturday (Sunday Manila time).

The scores were 77-74 for Inson, 77-74 for Steele, and 78-73 for Steele, whose best round came in the first when he decked his opponent twice

Inson picked himself up and managed to survive for eight rounds of their welterweight fight. He dropped to 18-2-1, with 12 KOs.
Steele improved to 9-2-1.

Earlier, Filipino Rey Perez fell to Australian prospect and Pacquiao’s sparmate George Kambosos Jr., losing by unanimous decision.
