Pacquiao sparmate beats Filipino boxer in Broner undercard
LAS VEGAS — Australian prospect George Kambosos Jr., Manny Pacquiao’s sparring partner, had little trouble getting past Filipino Rey Perez, fashioning out a unanimous decision win in their lightweight bout in the undercard of the Pacquiao-Adrien Broner clash at the MGM Grand Garden Arena here Saturday (Sunday Manila time).
The unbeaten Kambosos (now 16-0, with 9 KOs) thoroughly outclassed the Sta. Rosa City, Laguna-based Perez in eight rounds to win in all of the judges’ scorecards, 80-72.
Kambosos was Pacquiao’s main sparring partner in the Filipino icon’s preparation for Broner. He was present in Pacquiao’s training camps in Manila and at the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles.
Perez, for his part, dropped to 24-11, with 8 KOs.
