Hot-shooting Warriors rout Nuggets, 142-111
MANILA, Philippines – It was just one of those nights for the Golden State Warriors.
Shooting a whopping 60 percent from the field, the Warriors dominated the Nuggets, 142-111, Tuesday (Wednesday Manila Time) at the Pepsi Arena in Denver.
The defending champions broke the NBA record for most points scored in the first quarter after dropping 51 in the opening frame.
Riding the momentum from their strong start, the Warriors had their groove all game long to give the Nuggets a beating on their home floor. Denver was unable to take the lead through 48 minutes of play.
Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant combined for 89 points en route to their victory against the Nuggets. Golden State regains the number one spot in the West after the win, improving to 30-14 while the Nuggets fall to second place with their 29-14 slate, just half a game behind the Warriors.
Malik Beasley paced the Nuggets with 22 points.
