Bolts keenly pursuing Bobby Ray Parks
MANILA, Philippines — Blackwater team owner Dioceldo Sy insists Bobby Ray Parks will make his PBA debut with the Elite even as Meralco is seriously pursuing a trade deal to acquire the No. 2 draft selection.
“There’s an offer, but I want to see (Parks) play with us first for at least one conference. If we see a good chemistry, hindi na namin papakawalan yan,” Sy told The STAR.
The MVP Group is exploring a three-way trade deal where, if consummated, Parks would end up playing under godfather Norman Black at Meralco.
Reports said the trade proposal includes Baser Amer moving over to TNT KaTropa, and Jericho Cruz and Brian Heruela being sent to Blackwater.
But Sy stressed he would have Parks in his Elite team in the coming PBA Philippine Cup.
Sy said they are signing Parks to a two-year maximum deal.
Over at NorthPort, third pick Robert Bolick formalized that kind of deal yesterday.
