Struggling clubs seek redemption in Super Liga

Olmin Leyba - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Struggling squads seek to wrap up their preliminary campaigns in the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference on a bright note today at Batangas Sports Complex in Batangas City, aiming to possibly bring some momentum going into the quarterfinal round.

Foton (5-4), the erstwhile co-leader that’s slowed down by injuries, targets its sixth victory against a Sta Lucia side (0-9) hungry for a breakthrough in the 4:15 p.m. curtain-raiser while Cignal (4-5) and Cocolife (1-8) try to get back on the winnning track in their 6 p.m. entanglement.

The Tornadoes are soldiering on despite a depleted roster with Arianne Layug and Shaya Adorador suffering season-ending injuries and twin towers Jaja Santiago and Dindin Manabat with their Japanese clubs overseas.
