WATCH: Raymund Marasigan, Rye, BLKD’s ‘Atin To’ anthem for UAAP final four game
MANILA, Philippines — Three University of the Philippines alumni musicians released a one-minute long hype track for the final four appearance of its men’s basketball team, UP Fighting Maroons.
Legendary OPM rock icon Raymund Marasigan of bands Eraserheads, Sandwich, Pedicab, Assembly Generals and rappers BLKD and Rye Armamento of Uprising Records and Music Colony collaborated for the track titled “Atin To.”
The track was conceptualized before the UP Fighting Maroons’ first final four win at the UAAP’s 81st season and was released on social media just a day before the do-or-die game against Adamson University’s Soaring Falcons.
The title “Atin To!” was derived from the famous fearless forecast line blurted out by Maroons’ team captain Paul Desiderio in one of their game during the UAAP Season 80 in September last year.
In one of the time-outs during a game against UST Growling Tigers, Desiderio motivated his teammates and told them “Atin ‘to! Papasok ‘to” before he made a historic game-winning three point shot.
The lyrics were penned by BLKD while Rye produced and arranged the track. It was recorded and mixed at Ken Lee’s studio.
In an interview with music channel, Myx, Rye said he and Marasigan are planning to add more verse and make the track into a full version win or lose.

Meanwhile, UP also used #AtinTwo as one of its official hashtags for the UAAP game as its vye for the second win that can take them to the finals happening on Wednesday afternoon. The hashtag is one of the current trending topics on Twitter.
