MANILA, Philippines — Alaska Milk sent Columbian Dyip to the exit while keeping itself in the thick of the fight for an elimination-round top finish on a relatively easy 104-94 win in the PBA Governors Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome last night.

Mike Harris dominated with 44 points and 27 rebounds and the Aces dealt the Dyip a sound beating at the paint in a crucial bounce-back from a loss to the Magnolia Hotshots Sunday to tie the Blackwater Elite at third place at 6-2.

Harris showed the way as the Aces moved within a game of the pacesetting Magnolia Hotshots (7-1) and a half game behind the second-running Barangay Ginebra Kings (7-2).

“Last game, I was a bit frustrated. In this game, I established myself early,” said the Alaska import, who buckled down to work right from the get-go and never let up as he almost doubled his average of 26.3 points a game.

Harris, however, said credit also belonged to his teammates.

“They kept finding me. And the good about this team is that anybody can step up at any given time,” he said.

Vic Manuel and Jvee Casio provided tremendous support off the bench, combining for 26 points, seven rebounds and four assists in Alaska’s dominant victory that boosted their drive for a twice-to-beat bonus in the quarterfinals.

James Yap, Beau Belga and Chris Tiu put on display their shooting prowess, combining for 15 three-pointers as Rain or Shine made it two in a row with a 120-98 rout of NorthPort later in the night.

Yap drained six treys, Belga knocked in five on a perfect clip while Tiu added four with three other ROS players making a triple each in a hot shooting that keyed a second straight win for the E-Painters.
