Dragons eye lead share with Scorpions

MANILA, Philippines — Diliman College takes on former champion Centro Escolar U today, aiming for a victory and a share of the lead with two others in the Universities and Colleges Basketball League (UCBL) Season 3 at the Olivarez College gym in Parañaque City.

The Diliman Blue Dragons and the CEU Scorpions clash at 2 p.m. with the former out to keep in step with the Olivarez Sea Lions and the Technological Institute of the Philippines Engineers, who notched their second straight victories last Monday.

Diliman kicked off its campaign with an imposing 126-71 rout of St. Joseph College of Bulacan last week with Benin’s Kevine Gandjeto making an early impression with 20 points, six rebounds, five blocks and two assists.

Diliman coach Rensy Bajar, however, expects a fierce duel with the Scorpions of coach Derrick Pumaren.

“We are preparing hard because we know how dangerous CEU is,” said Bajar.
