Lady Tams target solo lead vs Stags
MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern U sets out as the heavy favorite as it shoots for a third straight victory against San Sebastian even as University of the Philippines debuts against Perpetual Help in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Collegiate Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan today.
Dragged into a five-set battle by the St. Benilde Lady Blazers and a four-set skirmish by the San Beda Red Spikers in their first two matches, the Lady Tams look to score a sweep this time as they take on the Lady Stags, who yielded a straight-set defeat to the UST Tigresses last week.
Gametime is at 4 p.m. with Celine Domingo, Lycha Ebon, Jerrili Malabanan, Czarina Carandang, Heather Guino-O and Jeanette Villareal hoping to raise the level of the game along with setter Kyle Negrito and libero Ria Duremdes.
But the Lady Stags also hope to come out strong and spring a surprise behind Joyce Sta. Rita, Jamille Carreon, Shane Requierme with libero Jewelle Bermillo and playmaker Alexia Sison likewise eager to provide the needed support.
The Fighting Maroons, on the other hand, try to pounce on the Lady Altas’ poor start as they tangle in the 2 p.m. opener.
