Revellers rain treys on Scorpions, annex 5th straight
MANILA, Philippines — Che’Lu Bar and Grill sizzled from the long range and dominated Centro Escolar U, 105-80, to roll to its fifth straight victory for the solo lead in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig yesterday.
The Revellers drilled in 18 of their 32 three-point attempts as they stayed control all throughout to sustain their hot streak at 5-1 while dealing the Scorpions their third loss in six games.
“We did great in our shooting. We lack shooters but they showed me that we can do well not just on our inside game. A lot of players stepped up also,” said Che’Lu Bar and Grill coach Stevenson Tiu.
Jeff Viernes went six-of-10 from beyond the arc for a game-high 22 points he laced with four assists and two steals. Stephen Siruma hit four treys in his 14 markers, Jessie Collado scored 12 anchored on two triples and Jay-R Taganas had one trey in his 10-point output while adding 10 rebounds.
