Tanauan tops 4 divisions in Little League

MANILA, Philippines — Tanauan scored big in the 2018 Little League Philippine Series National Finals, sweeping the three divisions in baseball and adding one in softball yesterday in Cabuyao, Laguna to lead the Pinoy roster of champs and qualifiers to the Asia-Pacific Series.

The Tanauan baseball aces successfully defended their title in the centerpiece majors division after disposing of erstwhile unbeaten Muntinlupa, 11-0, while their counterparts in Junior League and Senior League emerged victorious at the expense of Muntinlupa, 16-1, and elims topnotcher South Cotabato, 4-2, respectively.

The Tanaueños’ annexed the Senior League Softball tiara as well as it dethroned Negros Occidental via a 3-0 scoreline.

Negros Occidental softbelles reaped success in other fronts with their majors team retaining the diadem following a 13-3 rout of Cavite and their juniors’ squad ruling their division after a 3-1 edging of Pasig.

The Philippine Series titlists progressed to their respective division’s Aspac Series, the next step in the road to the Little League World Series.
